Towards Academic Integrity: Monitoring at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University

Following the decision of the League’s General Assembly dated November 20, 2025, Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University was admitted to the League of Academic Integrity. In this regard, on February 25, 2026, a monitoring procedure began to assess compliance with the League’s standards and to identify corruption risks.

 

Composition of the Monitoring Commission:

1. Nurgul Nurlan - Head of the League’s Project Office (AIL);

2. Inna Dzhemaledinova - Head of the Anti-Corruption Compliance Service at M. Kozybayev North Kazakhstan University;

3. Nurken Akhmetov - Member of the Management Board, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and International Cooperation at S. Utebayev Atyrau University of Oil and Gas;

4. Nurzhan Duzbayev - Vice-Rector for Digitalization and Innovation at International Information Technology University;

5. Gulziya Burshukova - Head of the Project Office for Rankings, Scientometrics, SDGs, and Inclusive Education at K. Satbayev Kazakh National Research Technical University.

 

On the first day, meetings were held with the Chairman of the Management Board - Rector and the vice-rectors of the university. Interviews were conducted with faculty deans, heads of departments, leaders of structural divisions, coordinators, research project managers, and members of the academic staff. Particular attention was paid to assessing the level of digitalization of educational processes.

 

A seminar was also organized covering key topics:

• Academic integrity as an institutional system;

• Research activities;

• Policies and procedures.

The monitoring group reviewed supporting documentation and concluded the first day’s program with an internal commission meeting.
