Professional activity: Professional experience of 18 years. 2008-2025 worked in the laboratory of marine fishes of KaspNIRKh. In 2011, he joined the Laboratory of Amateur and sport fishing as a junior researcher. In 2012, he was transferred to the position of a researcher. In 2015, Barabanov V. V. was transferred to the laboratory of semi-aquatic and riverine fish as a researcher. In 2021, he will be the head of the laboratory of semi-aquatic and riverine fish. Since February 2022, he has been the head of the Center for Resource Research of the Volga-Caspian branch of the SSC RF VNIRO Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution (KaspNIRH).

From 1981 to 1995, he worked at the Pacific Research Fleet Intelligence Directorate (TURNIF) as a technician, engineer, researcher, and senior researcher (Vladivostok, Russia). From 1995 to 1998, he was a researcher at the Kazakh Fisheries Research Institute, Atyrau, Kazakhstan. 1999: Fish breeder engineer at the Ural-Atyrau Sturgeon Hatchery. From 2002 to 2014, he was a senior researcher at the Kazakh Fisheries Research Institute, Atyrau, Kazakhstan. From 2014 to the present, he has worked at Kazekoproekt, Kazakhstan, as a chief specialist in the Marine Research and Design Department.
