International Round Table on Artificial Intelligence Technologies Held at Atyrau University
Within the framework of the Year of Artificial Intelligence declared in Kazakhstan and the General Assembly of the Association of Universities and Research Centers of the Caspian Region, Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University hosted an international round table titled “Application of Artificial Intelligence Technologies in the Agro-Industrial and Fisheries Sectors: International Experience.”
During the round table, representatives of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, the St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Astrakhan State Technical University, St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation, Dagestan State University, S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University, as well as the University of Nicosia (Cyprus) and the Mediterranean Institute of Management Sciences, delivered substantive presentations on the use of agrodrones, intelligent monitoring systems, VR technologies, aquaculture, digital transformation, and the integration of artificial intelligence into research and educational processes.
At the opening of the event, the Chairman of the Board - Rector of Atyrau University, President of the Association of Universities and Research Centers of the Caspian Region, Professor Salamat Idrissov, delivered a welcome address, emphasizing the strategic importance of artificial intelligence in the digitalization of the agricultural and fisheries sectors. Welcoming remarks were also delivered by Amangeldi Sagidollauly, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Land Relations; Alexander Nevalenniy, Rector of Astrakhan State Technical University; and Murtazali Rabadаnov, Rector of Dagestan State University.
On behalf of Astrakhan State Technical University, Rector Professor Alexander Nevalenniy and Associate Professor Elena Chertina presented reports. From the St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of the RAS and St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation, Professor Andrey Ronzhin, PhD Valery Zakharov, and Professor Galina Peshkova shared their expertise. From Atyrau University, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Sofia Sagyndykova delivered a presentation. Representatives of Dagestan State University included Rector Murtazali Rabadаnov, Vice-Rector Murtuzali Rabadanov, and Associate Professor Garun Sultanov. From S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University, Meretmukhammet Khojanepesov and Suray Sultanova participated, while Dr. Alexandra Figurek represented the University of Nicosia and the Mediterranean Institute of Management Sciences. Speakers shared international experience in implementing artificial intelligence technologies in the agro-industrial and fisheries sectors.
The event was also attended by Atyrau University’s employer partners, including Bolat Mukhatzhiyev, Director of the Atyrau Sturgeon Hatchery; Nurbolat Supygaliyev, Head of the Recirculating Aquaculture Systems Unit; Artur Sadibekuly, Deputy Head of the Ural-Caspian Interregional Fisheries Basin Inspection; and Akhat Nimatov, Chief Fish Farming Specialist of Caspian Royal Fish LLP. They discussed issues of cooperation between industry and education.
At the conclusion of the event, participants highlighted the role of modern technologies in the digitalization of the agro-industrial and fisheries sectors and exchanged views on advancing international scientific cooperation in the Caspian region. The round table underscored the importance of continuing joint research projects and academic exchange.
As part of the round table, Alexander Nikolaevich Nevalenniy, Rector of Astrakhan State Technical University, Doctor of Biological Sciences and Professor (Russian Federation), was ceremonially awarded the title and certificate of Honorary Professor of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.
