Meeting with Mazhilis Deputy Abzal Kuspan Held at Atyrau University within the “Law and Order” Framework
A meeting with Abzal Temirgaliuly Kuspan, Deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, member of the Committee on Legislation and Judicial-Legal Reform, and Honored Lawyer of Kazakhstan, was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.
The meeting, organized for students and youth, addressed pressing societal issues within the framework of the “Law and Order” principle. The speaker emphasized the importance of improving legal literacy among young people, noting that knowledge of and respect for the law constitute the civic responsibility of every citizen. Practical examples were provided to illustrate these points.
Particular attention was given to issues recently discussed at the National Kurultai in Kyzylorda, including outdated practices such as bride kidnapping, drug abuse, fraud, illegal banking and debt collection activities, the involvement of youth in “drug courier” schemes, and updated legal provisions concerning so-called “droppers.”
The main objective of the meeting was to prevent offenses among young people, foster a culture of respect for the law, and reinforce awareness of legal responsibility for unlawful actions.
The event was moderated by Murat Oteshov, Chairman of the Veterans Council. Maksym Izbasov, an oil and gas industry veteran, Order of Barys recipient, and participant of the National Kurultai representing the Atyrau region, also addressed the audience.
During the meeting, Abzal Kuspan donated his book “Alash Lawyers” to the university library. By decision of the University Academic Council, he was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.
