A National Conference “Kusiyn Aitkaliuly’s Pedagogical Legacy and Contemporary Issues in Education: Present and Future” Held at Atyrau University

At Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, a national scientific-practical conference titled “Kusiyn Aitkaliuly’s Pedagogical Legacy and Contemporary Issues in Education: Present and Future” was held to commemorate the 95th anniversary of Kusiyn Aitkaliuly - People’s Teacher of the USSR, Honorary Citizen of Atyrau Region, and Honorary Professor of Atyrau University.

In the first part of the conference, sectional meetings were organized under several thematic areas: “Methodological Heritage, Pedagogical Ideas, and Teaching Path of K. Aitkaliuly,” “The Influence of Kusiyn Aitkaliuly’s Legacy on the Professional Development of Kazakh Language and Literature Teachers,” “Modern Education and Upbringing: Current Issues and the Image of a Virtuous Citizen,” and “The Teacher in the Era of EdTech: Digital Transformation and Professional Growth.”

The plenary session was moderated by Kylyshbai Sundetuly, Chair of the Regional Union of Education and Science Workers. Speakers included Director of the Institute for Professional Development in Atyrau Region Marzhan Galimzhanova, scholar and Abai researcher, Head of the National Cultural Center at Nazarbayev University Gultas Kurmanbai, well-known academics Shakhman Nagimov and Akkali Akhmet, and others. They discussed the life, pedagogical school, and methodology of the renowned teacher and mentor Kusiyn Aitkaliuly, sharing reflections on his lasting contributions to Kazakh education.

Teacher of the Al-Farabi BINOM School-Lyceum in Atyrau, Aksholpan Aitkali, shared heartfelt memories about her father.

During the event, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Akkali Akhmet was awarded the K. Aitkaliuly Medal. In addition, Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Youth Policy of Atyrau University, Lyaiyla  Koishyghulova, presented Professor, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Gultas Kurmanbai with a commemorative badge dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Atyrau University and conveyed a Letter of Appreciation on behalf of Rector Salamat Idrissov.
