
Science and Society: Joint Efforts to Protect Wildlife
At Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, a roundtable discussion titled “Science and Society: Joint Efforts to Protect Wildlife” was held on October 4, in honor of World Animal Day.
The event aimed to strengthen the collaboration between science and society in wildlife conservation across the region, share scientific research results with the public, promote environmental awareness, and identify effective mechanisms for preserving animal biodiversity through the joint efforts of government agencies, scientific institutions, and civil society organizations.
The Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Associate Professor Mansiya Yesenamanova, delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the important role of society in wildlife protection.
During the discussion, researcher and ichthyologist Symbat Sabirova from the “Akzhaiyk” State Nature Reserve, Ecoanalytics student Lalita Bayangali, and Biology students Asylai Medeuova and Gaukhar Azhigereyeva presented insightful reports and shared their views.
Participants discussed ongoing research projects focused on the conservation of wildlife in the Atyrau region. The roundtable concluded with the adoption of joint recommendations and a commemorative photo session.
