As part of the 2026–2027 academic year work plan of the Office of Professional Retraining and Advanced Training at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, the “PROF Qadam: Mentorship and Curatorship” project is being implemented from October 12 to May 14 for fourth-year students enrolled in teacher education programs.
Gulzhan Nursultanova, Head of the Office, visited several educational institutions in Atyrau together with students participating in the project. These included the D. Kunayev Atyrau Regional School-Lyceum, Al-Farabi School-Lyceum, Zhaiyk and Caspian BINOM School lyceums, SilkWay School-Lyceum, School No. 40 named after A. Kekilbayev, and School No. 23 named after A. Baitursynov.
The “PROF Qadam: Mentorship and Curatorship” project goes beyond simply introducing students to schools. It is an important initiative designed to help future teachers adapt to a professional environment and develop the confidence and skills needed to become competent educators. Each visit to a school represents a meaningful step toward professional growth, practical experience, and a stronger sense of responsibility for their chosen profession.
The primary purpose of these meetings is to strengthen professional cooperation between the university and schools, introduce future teachers to real educational environments, and provide opportunities to receive guidance from experienced educators.
The authentic school environment offers students valuable practical experience that cannot be gained from textbooks alone. Future teachers develop a deeper understanding of their professional responsibilities while improving their skills in communicating with pupils, planning lessons with clear learning objectives and differentiated tasks, making professional decisions, and responding effectively to various classroom situations.
It is particularly encouraging that several new schools have joined the project this year, including Zhaiyk and Caspian BINOM School lyceums, SilkWay School-Lyceum, School No. 51, and School No. 23 named after A. Baitursynov.
Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University expresses its sincere gratitude to the school administrations for supporting the project and warmly welcoming our students, as well as to the teachers who generously shared their professional knowledge and experience.
May our continued cooperation contribute to preparing knowledgeable, skilled, and dedicated teachers who are committed to lifelong learning and professional development!
