During the spring examination period of the 2025–2026 academic year, Atyrau University conducted the “Clean Session” campaign to ensure compliance with the principles of academic integrity and prevent corruption risks.
As part of the campaign, a special commission was established, consisting of representatives of the Anti-Corruption Compliance Service, academic departments, and the student community. The commission regularly monitored the examination process. In addition, suggestion and complaint boxes were installed at the faculties to collect students’ feedback, requests, and proposals.
According to the results of the summer examination period, 46 cases of academic integrity violations were identified. Of these, 40 cases involved students using mobile phones during examinations. In one case, a student was found with earphones, while another student brought a smartwatch into the examination room. Additionally, four cases were recorded in which students opened a web browser and used the Google search engine to look up answers to examination questions.
The “Clean Session” campaign aims to ensure transparency and objectivity in student assessment, promote student responsibility, and strengthen the culture of academic integrity. The monitoring activities and preventive measures implemented during the campaign contributed to reducing corruption risks within the university.
