Atyrau Student Becomes World Champion!

Chairman of the Board – Rector of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, Salamat Idrissov, congratulated university student and World Champion Alfiya Tilekkabyl, along with her coach, Honored Coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhandos Kiyanov, on their remarkable achievement.

From May 13 to 15, the IBSA Judo World Championships Astana 2025 took place in Astana, gathering more than 300 athletes from 40 countries.

Alfiya Tilekkabyl, a second-year student at the Faculty of Humanities and Arts and an International Master of Sports, competed in the 52 kg category, J1 classification, and placed 5th in the individual event.

However, she went on to compete as part of the Kazakhstan national team in the team event and became a World Champion!

Atyrau’s para-judo athletes proudly represented Kazakhstan and achieved great success on the global stage!
