Opening Ceremony of the XIII Summer Universiade Held in Turkistan

The grand opening ceremony of the XIII Summer Universiade was held in Turkistan. The Chairman of the Board – Rector of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, Salamat Idrissov, participated in the event to support the university athletes. This year, 132 athletes from our university are competing in 16 different sports disciplines.

The honor of carrying the university flag during the ceremony was granted to Daniyar Kulushev, a 4th-year student and multiple prize-winner of national judo championships, a medalist in the under-23 national championships, and a winner of international tournaments.

As of today, the judo team has delivered the following results:

• 1 Gold

• 3 Silver

• 1 Bronze

Individual results:

• Aruzhan Zhandarbai – Silver medal in the 78 kg weight category

• Shynar Bitimbai – Bronze medal in the 70 kg weight category

Additionally, the men’s judo team took 3rd place in the team standings among 30 universities.
