Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University Delegation Expands International Cooperation at Education Exhibition in Istanbul

In the era of globalisation, one of the key priorities for enhancing the competitiveness of higher education is internationalisation - the process of bringing education and research to the international level and establishing strong partnerships with universities abroad. This approach enables the integration of the experience of leading universities around the world into the national higher education system, promotes academic mobility for students and faculty members, and facilitates the development of joint research projects and dual-degree programmes.

Today, internationalisation remains one of the key priorities facing higher education institutions in Kazakhstan, with the support of Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek.

As part of this strategic direction, Salamat Idrissov, Rector of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, places particular emphasis on strengthening international cooperation. In this regard, B.O. Altynbassov, Vice-Rector for Strategy and International Cooperation, and S.Kh. Khamidulla, Specialist at the Office of International Partnerships and Internationalisation, participated in the 15th International “University Preference Fair 2026”, organised by EKET FAIRS in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye.

During the three-day international exhibition, the University delegation held a number of meetings with representatives of leading higher education institutions from around the world. As a result, negotiations were initiated on concluding memoranda of cooperation with more than ten foreign universities. In particular, a Memorandum of Understanding on mutual cooperation was signed between Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University and İstanbul Nişantaşı University.

The University delegation also held meetings with representatives of İstanbul Technical University, Biruni University and Altınbaş University. The discussions focused on deepening research cooperation, publishing joint articles in internationally indexed journals and developing international research projects.

Agreements were also reached on academic mobility and the development of dual-degree educational programmes.

This business visit marked an important step towards further strengthening the international partnerships of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University and expanding its network of cooperation within the global higher education community.
