On November 7, 2025, the Department of Russian Philology hosted an online guest lecture by Professor Ludmila Vasilievna Safronova, Doctor of Philological Sciences, entitled “Psychoanalytic and Cognitive Literary Studies: The Nature of Genius.”
The lecture became a significant intellectual event for both students and faculty members. Professor Safronova provided an in-depth and compelling overview of the key principles of psychoanalytic and cognitive approaches to literary studies, demonstrating their heuristic potential for the analysis of literary texts. She also explored the nature of genius from an interdisciplinary perspective.
The students had a valuable opportunity to become acquainted with contemporary scholarly concepts, engage in discussion with a distinguished expert, and broaden their academic horizons. The lecture was characterized by a high level of academic culture, well-founded arguments, and an engaging and inspiring presentation style.
The lecture was moderated by Nurgul Balkhashevna Kairliyeva, Master of Pedagogical Sciences. Faculty members, master's students, and undergraduate students attended the event. Zh.E. Kenzhebayeva, Candidate of Philological Sciences and Professor, together with fourth-year students, actively participated in the discussion by asking questions and expressing their best wishes to the speaker.
