On September 13, 2025, faculty members of the Department of Russian Philology at H. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, together with Dr. Sevinj Mehtikhanli, a PhD scholar from the University of Guilan (Iran), visited the House of Friendship to attend the concert “We Are Together,” dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.
The event stood out for its excellent organization and rich cultural program, which showcased the diverse heritage of the peoples of Kazakhstan. Dr. Mehtikhanli emphasized the significance of such initiatives in strengthening friendship, mutual understanding, and intercultural dialogue. The participants also became acquainted with the activities of the Azerbaijani Cultural Center headed by Eldar Ahmadov.
In addition, a special city tour of Atyrau was organized for the distinguished guest. A bus ride along Azattyq Avenue, a visit to the pedestrian bridge in the Zhilgorodok district, and engaging historical narratives provided by tour guide Lev Guzikov offered a deeper insight into the city’s past and present. Visits to the Assumption Cathedral, historic residential buildings, the House of the First Soviet Council, and the legendary “Haunted House” made the excursion particularly memorable. The tour concluded with a pleasant walk along the embankment, leaving the professor with vivid impressions of the city.
These days marked an important step toward strengthening cultural and educational cooperation between Kazakhstan and Iran, fostering closer ties between the two countries and their academic communities.
