Scientific Seminar “Poet. Publicist. Scholar” Held

A scientific seminar titled “Poet. Publicist. Scholar” dedicated to the anniversary of poet, literary critic, publicist, and scholar Gulzada Nietkaliyeva was held at  Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.

Gulzada Nietkaliyeva is a member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan, and the London-based international creative organization Eurasian Creative Guild. She is also a laureate of the International “Alash” Literary Prize and an Honored Worker of the Information Sphere of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At the opening of the seminar, which was organized in both offline and online formats, Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Youth Policy Lyaila Koishyghulova delivered welcoming remarks, highlighting the юбилей celebrant’s contribution to Kazakh literature, journalism, spirituality, and science.

During the event, a documentary video about Gulzada Nietkaliyeva’s life and career was presented, while her poetry, journalistic heritage, literary criticism, and scientific research were comprehensively discussed. Chairman of the Atyrau Regional Veterans Council and Honorary Citizen of Atyrau Region Murat Uteshov delivered a presentation titled “A Poetess Guided by Honor,” while Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Kadir Zhusip presented a report on “The Artistic Features of Gulzada Nietkaliyeva’s Poetry.”

Professors, scholars, and representatives of culture and literature - including Professor Sofiya Sagyndykova, senior lecturer Lazzat Mazhitova, Honorary Professor of Atyrau University Tolegen Zhanabayev, Associate Professors Gulzira Ayapova and Bibigul Kairzhanova, Candidate of Art Studies Aknar Tattibaykyzy, and member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan Nursultan Myktybayev - shared meaningful insights on the national spirit, homeland themes, mythological motifs, harmony of word and music, authorial style, and spiritual values reflected in the writer’s works.

Alongside offline participants, members of the intellectual community from Almaty, Astana, and Türkiye joined the seminar online. In particular, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Professor Saule Zhanpeiisova from Almaty delivered a report titled “The Harmony of Word and Music in Gulzada Nietkaliyeva’s Poetry.”

The seminar brought together scholars, poets, writers, journalists, public figures, lecturers, and students. Young researchers and students also presented reports on themes such as love lyrics, the image of the Ural River, and spiritual values in Gulzada Nietkaliyeva’s poetry.

At the conclusion of the event, congratulatory remarks were delivered to the юбилей celebrant. Writer Isatay Balmagambetov, journalist Saule Otarbayeva, statesman and public figure Sarsenbay Yensegenov, Honored Journalist of Kazakhstan Svetlana Kairgaliyeva, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Gulmaidan Sundetova, poet Darazha Balapan, singer and Honored Cultural Figure of Kazakhstan Khanzada Sakhypova, and senior lecturer of Atyrau University Gulsara Kairova expressed their warm wishes.

Among the congratulators were also Sanjar Mulazimogly, representative of the Turkic peoples’ organization TURKSOY from Türkiye, and Ainur Yelemesova from Astana, who joined online to convey their congratulations. Participants highly praised Gulzada Rakhmetkyzy’s contribution to the development of Kazakh literature and journalism.
