Integrated Gas-Chemical Complex Project Presented at Atyrau University

At Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, “Silleno” LLP, in cooperation with “CaspiyMunayGas” Scientific Research and Design Institute JSC, conducted an open information session and seminar for students as part of the environmental impact assessment process for the construction and installation phase of the project titled “Construction of the First Integrated Gas-Chemical Complex in Atyrau Region: Phase II (Polyethylene Production).”
The event brought together students and academic staff of Atyrau University to familiarize them with the project’s objectives, technological processes, and potential implications.
“As part of the university’s roadmap, we are hosting this educational seminar to introduce the polyethylene project and explain its expected environmental effects, as well as its potential impact on the local community’s quality of life,” noted Nurzhan Nurmukhanov, Chief Environmental Engineer at “Silleno” LLP. “Equally important is the opportunity to involve local specialists in this major industrial initiative. We aim to inform students about promising career prospects within their area of study. Representatives from our technological, human resources, and environmental departments, including environmental engineer Yeldar Akhmetov, are present today to engage with participants.”
During the session, students learned about the technological aspects of polyethylene production, its applications across various sectors, the broader outlook of Kazakhstan’s petrochemical industry, and employment opportunities available within “Silleno” LLP and its contractors.
The event concluded with a discussion and Q&A session, during which students raised questions regarding job prospects, the environmental footprint of the oil and gas sector, and the economic viability of the new production phase.
