“Order and Law” Legal Literacy Month Launched
The “Order and Law” legal literacy month has been launched at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.
The main goal of the events held within the month is to provide legal education in schools and student groups, prevent juvenile delinquency, and foster respect for the law among youth.The first lecture of the month was attended by Deputy Head of the Local Police Service Department of the Atyrau City Police Department, Police Major Aibol Idrissov; Chairman of the Board – Rector of Atyrau University, Salamat Idrissov; and Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Youth Policy, Lyailya Koishyghulova. They addressed key issues concerning legal literacy among students.
During the “Order and Law” month, the Faculty of Economics and Law will prepare and distribute a brief legal guide covering various types of offenses - including hooliganism, participation in group fights, possession of cold weapons, violence, fraud, bullying, and assistance in drug abuse - and the penalties associated with these crimes.
In the course of the lectures held throughout the month, not only will legal regulations be explained, but also the psychological and moral consequences will be discussed in detail with real-life examples. These include the personal difficulties faced by convicted individuals as well as the burden placed on their families.
