“Great Victory: Honoring Heroism – A Role Model for Youth” – Marching Song Contest

At Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, a marching song contest was held under the slogan “Great Victory: Honoring Heroism – A Role Model for Youth,” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The event was organized among the second-year cadet platoons of the Military Department with the aim of fostering a spirit of patriotism among youth, honoring the bravery of WWII veterans, and enhancing drill and military training skills. Six platoons, along with university leadership, faculty members, and students took part in the contest.
During the competition, young cadets demonstrated their marching techniques, performed military songs, and showcased team coordination. Each platoon presented a patriotic-themed song:

Platoon I – “Alga, kazak zhigitteri”

Platoon II – “Atameken”

Platoon III – “Egemen Kazakstan”

Platoon IV – “Sarbazdar”

Platoon V – “An sal, sarbaz”

Platoon VI – “Men kazakpyn”
The songs, filled with military spirit and patriotism, left a strong impression on the audience.
During the award ceremony, Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Youth Policy, Lyailya Koishyghulova, noted:
“Our university was the first in the western region of the country to open a military department. Last year, when floods occurred across the nation, thanks to the dedicated efforts of our department staff and students, we successfully built a quality protective dam on the designated area. We believe that in emergencies, you will become the brave and skilled defenders of our homeland. Today’s competition was held at a high level – we sincerely congratulate the winners!”

The organizers emphasized that this event plays an important role in strengthening patriotic values among young people. The winners received special certificates and letters of appreciation.
