Amal Holiday Celebrated at Atyrau University
On the eve of Nauryz, the traditional Korisu holiday was celebrated at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.
The event, organized by the Faculty of Economics and Law, began with the traditional Korisu ritual, during which participants exchanged warm greetings and well-wishes.
“Today is the Korisu holiday of all Turkic peoples. At present, with the direct support of the President of the country, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Korisu holiday – Amal – is celebrated on a national scale. Since last year, the Nauryz festivities have been held under the name “Nauryznama” and last for ten days. At our university, this ten-day celebration, dedicated to its 85th anniversary, begins with Korisu Day. I wish you all good health and well-being. May we continue to meet in peace and joy year after year, holiday after holiday,” said University Rector Salamat Idrissov in his welcome speech.
During the Korisu celebration, traditional Kazakh games were held, and the country’s cultural heritage was showcased. The organizers prepared national Kazakh dishes and set up a festive dastarkhan.
At the festive concert, the audience enjoyed the terme “Zhaiyk Degen Zhandy Su” performed by Aktankerei, as well as the famous kui pieces “Adai” by Kurmangazy and “Zhanyltpash” by Oskenbai. Cheerful songs lifted the audience’s spirits. In addition, talented students from the faculty performed the national dance “Kara Zhorga” with elegance and grace.
At the end of the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Law, Raikhan Utesheva, presented awards to students who actively participated in the traditional games and quiz competitions.
