Directions for strengthening academic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan

A round table dedicated to expanding cooperation in the field of higher education between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan was held at ADA University in Azerbaijan.
The important event was attended by the Ministers of Science and Higher Education of both republics, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan, as well as the heads of more than 30 universities from both countries. The delegation of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, led by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Askhat Chukurov, also took part in the event.
The main goal of the event is to strengthen and develop partnerships between the universities of the two countries.
The Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, emphasized the importance of expanding academic partnerships and the possibility of creating an international education hub in his speech. Meanwhile, the Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Emin Amrullayev, expressed readiness for cooperation.
During the round table, university rectors presented several proposals to strengthen academic ties. Additionally, special attention was given to the presentation of the “Study in Kazakhstan” program by Adil Kusmanov, Chairman of the Board of “Center for International Programs” JSC. He highlighted positive trends in attracting international students and noted that the country’s education system is developing at the international level.
Currently, Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University is actively developing cooperation with Azerbaijani universities within the framework of the Association of State Universities of the Caspian Region, the Turkic Interuniversity Union, as well as various programs and initiatives. As part of the round table, students of Atyrau University studying at universities in Baku through academic mobility programs met with the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek.
The participants of the meeting focused on pressing topics such as the development of innovations, the strengthening of the business environment, and the importance of human capital in fostering a stable labor market in Kazakhstan and neighboring regions.
