Start discipline with yourself!

At the Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, within the framework of the campaign “Start discipline with yourself!”, a meeting was held with representatives of law enforcement agencies.
Lecturers and students from the Faculty of Economics and Law gave presentations: the head of the processing center of the administrative police department of the Atyrau region police department, Police Major Zhenis Dauletov; senior inspector of the juvenile police group, Police Lieutenant Colonel Oryngul Kushkaliyeva; prosecutor of the Atyrau city prosecutor’s office, Ulzhan Zhanadilkyzy; and lawyer of the Atyrau Regional Bar Association, Gulaina Akmurzina.
In her report on the types and causes of offenses most common among minors, Oryngul Kushkaliyeva noted that “incidents of group fights in public places, thefts, traffic accidents, as well as rapes and suicides have been registered among adolescents. These were offenses committed by the minors themselves. Crimes against minors are also increasing day by day. For this reason, a part was added to Article 141 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ‘Ensuring the safety of children’s lives and health.’ This served as a legislative warning to parents not to neglect the life and health of their children.”
During the meeting, issues of law and order and changes in legislation were discussed, and it was emphasized that family circumstances most often influence the commission of crimes by minors. In addition, examples were provided of how young people are involved in drug use or transportation practices, and practical situations were analyzed. The prosecutor of the Atyrau city prosecutor’s office, Ulzhan Zhanadilkyzy, showed a video about drug addiction. The students shared their thoughts on the content of the video and asked questions.
One of the pressing issues discussed at the event was the riding of mopeds by adolescents. In this regard, Police Major Zhenis Dauletov talked about traffic rules and new requirements for moped drivers, as well as shared detailed information about the registration of mopeds and the issuance of category A1 driver’s licenses to adolescents aged 16 and older, which will take place from January 18 to April 5, 2025.
At the end of the meeting, the students expressed their gratitude to the law enforcement officers who shared such valuable, informative content with them and took a memorable photo.
