Biography

Zheksenbek Salykovich Rakhmetov is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Fine Arts and Design of H. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University. He was born on January 6, 1961. From 1978 to 1982, he studied at the Faculty of Art and Graphics of Abai Kazakh Pedagogical Institute, awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labour, where he qualified as a teacher of Fine Arts and Technical Drawing. He began his professional career in 1982 at Kh. Abakhanov Secondary School in Orlik village, Inder district, Atyrau region, where he taught fine arts and technical drawing. Between 1982 and 1996, he worked as a school teacher, contributing to art education and the aesthetic development of students. Since 1996, he has been working at H. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University. Over the years, he has continued his teaching career at the Department of Fine Arts and Design, progressing from Senior Lecturer to his current position. In his professional activity, he pays particular attention to art education, drawing, technical drawing, composition, and the development of students’ professional skills through creative assignments. Alongside his teaching and methodological work, he is actively involved in preparing students for academic Olympiads. For professional development, he has completed a number of advanced training courses. In 2016, he finished the programs “Development of Distance Learning Technologies for Humanities Specialties” and “Modern Pedagogical Technologies.” In 2017, he contributed to the implementation of the university’s innovative educational project “Children’s University.” In 2024, he completed professional development under the Häme University of Applied Sciences (Finland) program on strengthening pedagogical education models, as well as the program “Contemporary Issues in Art Education and Design” at H. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University. Under Mr. Rakhmetov’s supervision, students achieved strong results at national academic Olympiads. In 2019, at the XI Republican Subject Olympiad among university students of Kazakhstan in the specialty “Fine Arts and Technical Drawing,” his student team received third-degree diplomas in home assignment, technical drawing, drawing, and composition. For his many years of pedagogical work and professional achievements, he has received numerous awards. These include a Letter of Appreciation from the Akim of Atyrau city (2016), Appreciation from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2018), the anniversary medal “50 Years of the Institute of Arts, Culture and Sports” of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University (2019), the badge “For Contribution to the Development of the University” (2021), and awards for participation in city and republican chess tournaments. In 2018, he won second place in the city open chess tournament dedicated to the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and in 2022, he received a Certificate of Honor for active participation in the republican men’s chess tournament organized by the branch trade union.
