Serik Oryngaliuly Kuanysh

Honorary Citizen of Makat District, Atyrau Region. He graduated from the Faculty of History of S.M. Kirov Kazakh State University (1986). He worked as a lecturer and senior lecturer at H. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau State University (1992–2007), served as Head of the Department of History of Kazakhstan (2008–2017), Head of the State Archive of Atyrau Region (2018–2022), and is currently an Associate Professor of the Department of Kazakhstan and World History at H. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University. Within the framework of the “People in the Stream of History” program, he was a member of the Public Council for Coordinating the Study of National History under the Akim of Atyrau Region (2013–2014), a member and team leader of the regional commission for the full rehabilitation of victims of political repression in Atyrau Region (2021–2023), and a member of the Atyrau Regional Onomastic Commission. Research interests: History of Kazakhstan, regional history, political repression. Additional education: Internship at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Valencia, Spain) under the “Teaching Techniques Development” program (2015); course “Modern Pedagogy and Teaching Subjects in English” conducted by the Swiss American Academy at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University (2016); advanced training course under the project “Implementation of the Pedagogical Education Model and Strengthening Its Content” (2024), coordinated by HAMK University of Applied Sciences (Finland), in cooperation with Nazarbayev University and supported by the World Bank, and others.
