Biography
Kuralai Urgenishbayevna Kuatova is a Master’s degree holder and Senior Lecturer at H. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University. She was born on October 1, 1977, in Karakum village, Aral district, Kyzylorda region.
From 1994 to 1998, she studied Journalism at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, earning a Bachelor’s degree. In 2023–2025, she completed her Master’s degree in Philology at H. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University. As part of a dual-degree program, she studied at Omer Halisdemir University in Nigde, Turkey.
She began her career in 1998 as a journalist at Ana Tili newspaper in Almaty. From 2001 to 2003, she worked as a lecturer at Aktobe State University named after K. Zhubanov. She also worked in regional television and print media during this period.
From 2004 to 2017, she worked as a correspondent for Atyrau newspaper. From 2010 to 2015, she was a regional correspondent for Zan newspaper. In 2013–2014, she served as press secretary of the Department for Execution of Judicial Acts in Atyrau region. From 2017 to 2019, she worked for Zhas Alash newspaper. She also worked as a club leader at a student center (2017–2020).
From 2020 to 2022, she was a regional correspondent for the western region at inbusiness.kz (ATAMEKEN BUSINESS media holding). From 2022 to 2024, she served as press secretary of H. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.
In 2008, she was awarded the title “Journalist of the Year.” She participated in international programs, including EITI training (Baku, 2011) and Open Budget Fellowship (Almaty, 2019).
She is the author of the book “25 Years of Maslikhats of Atyrau Region.” She has received numerous awards and certificates of appreciation.
