Yerlan Kabiyev is a geographer and specialist in Physical Geography. He served as Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Head of the Department of Geography and Tourism. His research focuses on climate change, ecosystem conservation, and natural resource management. He possesses strong expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and spatial analysis.
As a researcher, he successfully implemented three large-scale projects addressing desertification control, sustainable land management, and water security:
