A round table titled “The New Constitution - A New Stage in the Development of the Country” was held today at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University. During the meeting, participants analyzed the results of the national referendum and the historical significance of constitutional reforms.
The event was opened by the Chairman of the Board - Rector, Salamat Idrissov, who congratulated participants on the Amal holiday and the beginning of the Nauryznamа decade.
In his speech, the Rector referred to the statement of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev that “The New Constitution is the foundation of independence and sovereignty,” emphasizing that the referendum demonstrated the unity of society.
“The active participation of citizens in the referendum is one of the important steps in the democratic development of the country. The university community also actively participated in awareness-raising activities within this initiative,” said Salamat Idrissov.
At the round table, Director of the Research Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnology of the Caspian Region named after Kh.B. Tabyldiev, Doctor of Historical Sciences and Associate Professor Sagidulla Sapanov, presented a report on the historical significance of constitutional reforms.
In addition, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Internationalization Bakyt Altynbassov and Leading Specialist of the Department for Social Affairs and Youth Policy Elvira Adilova shared their views.
At the end of the meeting, participants exchanged opinions on the role of the new Constitution in building a just society.
