Red Bull Basement Workshop: How to Build a Career Through a Personal Brand

An inspiring meeting for students was held at Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University at the initiative of Atyrau Hub. Within the framework of the global Red Bull Basement project, an educational workshop titled “Developing a Personal Brand on Social Media and How It Helps Build a Career” took place.

The invited speaker was Shugyla Saginbekova, Head of Community Experience at nFactorial Club. With extensive experience in community management and talent development, she shared insights with students on how a digital footprint can turn into social capital.

The modern labor market requires graduates to have not only a diploma but also visible expertise. During the intensive session, participants received practical tools in three key areas:

1. Building a foundation:

How to create a strong personal brand from scratch that reflects personal values and professional ambitions.

2. Strengthening positioning:

How to demonstrate expertise in a way that helps stand out among thousands of specialists.

3. Monetizing attention:

How to transform an active online presence into offline opportunities - from internships at leading companies to participation in international projects.

The speaker also emphasized the concept of “sustainable self-presentation,” explaining how to share achievements online sincerely and confidently while maintaining a healthy balance between personal and professional life.

“A personal brand is not about the number of followers but about the quality of your connections and clear positioning,” participants noted during the meeting.

The discussion of real cases and the speaker’s honest experience generated strong interest among students, who actively asked questions about starting blogs in fields such as journalism, education, and IT.

The university continues to support initiatives aimed at developing soft skills and promoting the professional growth of its students.
