Alfiya - Champion of Asia!

At the Asian Para Judo Championship held in Astana, Alfiya Tlekkabyl proudly represented Kazakhstan and won the gold medal in the 52 kg weight category (J1 classification).

Throughout the tournament, Alfiya demonstrated exceptional skill and confidently defeated her opponents:

• In the quarterfinals, she overcame Polish athlete Novia Larasati;
• In the semifinals, she won against fellow Kazakh athlete Inkar Bauyrzhan;
• In the final, she triumphed over Uzbek judoka Fotima Toirova, securing the title of Asian Champion.

This is not Alfiya’s first major victory. She also became the continental champion in the 57 kg category at the 2023 Asian Championships held in Astana.

It is worth noting that Alfiya Tlekkabyl is a 3rd-year student of the Faculty of Humanities and Arts at Atyrau University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov. Her outstanding achievement is a great source of pride for our university.
