“Zhas Sarbaz” Military-Patriotic Competition Held at Atyrau University

A military-patriotic competition titled “Zhas Sarbaz” was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University with the support of the Atyrau City Department of Internal Policy and organized by the public association “Atyrau Zhas Örenderi”. The event brought together school students to foster patriotism, bravery, and a spirit of service to the homeland.

Ten teams consisting of students from grades 9 to 11 representing various schools in Atyrau city participated in the event, which aimed to instill military values and deepen their love for the Motherland.

At the opening ceremony, Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Youth Policy, Lyailya Koishygulova, and Head of the Military Department, Ruslan Nauryzbekov, addressed the participants and wished them success.

“Dear colleagues and participants, I wish you all the best in the “Zhas Sarbaz” military-patriotic competition! This year marks the 9th anniversary of the establishment of our university’s Military Department. Students of any specialty can enter this department based on the results of such competitions. This year also marks the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. May there never be war again, but we believe you will play a key role in preserving the sovereignty and integrity of our nation,” said the Vice-Rector.

The competition consisted of three main stages:

1. “Soldier’s Path” Tactical Game – Teams completed a set of exercises simulating real combat or field conditions.

2. “Mini Relay” Physical Challenge – Participants demonstrated physical strength and endurance by performing tasks such as pull-ups, sit-ups, carrying weighted items, rope jumping, and a 200-meter run.

3. Legal Knowledge Quiz – Students answered questions on the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, military discipline, civil defense, and first aid.

At the conclusion of the event, the overall results were announced, and all participating teams received letters of appreciation. The winners were awarded diplomas and cash prizes:

• 1st Place – Sarmat Specialized School-Lyceum-Boarding School No. 1 (Cash prize: 100,000 KZT)

• 2nd Place – School-Gymnasium No. 44 (Cash prize: 75,000 KZT)

• 3rd Place – Sarmat Specialized School-Lyceum-Boarding School No. 2 (Cash prize: 50,000 KZT)
