As part of the celebrations marking the Day of Languages of the People of Kazakhstan on September 5, the Atyrau Regional Department of Culture and Language Development organized a ceremonial event entitled “Language as a Pillar of Unity.”
During the event, Kuanov Magypar Salamatuly, Associate Professor at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University and Candidate of Geographical Sciences, was awarded the “For Contribution to the Development of the Native Language” badge of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Magypar Salamatuly is one of the scholars making a significant contribution to the development of the Kazakh-language Wikipedia. He has made nearly 87,000 edits to the Kazakh Wikipedia and authored approximately 3,000 articles. In addition, Marlen Doshkan, a graduate of our University this year, received a Letter of Appreciation from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for his contribution to the development of the Kazakh Wikipedia.
These achievements demonstrate the growing number of initiatives at our University aimed not only at advancing education and science, but also at promoting the native language and expanding the use of the Kazakh language in the digital space.
It is a great source of pride for our University that both a member of our academic community and a graduate have received such prestigious recognition. Their contribution serves as an example for the younger generation and will give further impetus to the development of educational and academic content in the Kazakh language.
