During the lectures, the University’s professors and lecturers highlighted the significance of the new Constitution and explained its key principles aimed at the socio-political development of the country and expanding the rights and opportunities of citizens.
During the welcoming event, Salamat Idrissov, Chairman of the Board – Rector of the University, congratulated the first-year students on the beginning of the new academic year and wished them success on their educational journey.
“Today marks the beginning of a new and responsible stage in your lives. The great thinker Abai’s words, ‘Do not take pride without gaining knowledge; do not strive for a position without finding your place,’ should become a guiding principle for every young person seeking knowledge. President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also emphasised at this year’s August Conference: ‘Only by relying on education and science can we achieve all our goals.’
“Therefore, I encourage you to make education and science your main priorities, to continue learning and to strive for new opportunities. A university is not only a place where you acquire knowledge; it is also an environment where you develop as individuals and strengthen your abilities. Alongside pursuing a quality education, I encourage you to take an active part in university life and contribute to volunteer, environmental, social, cultural and youth initiatives. The future of our country is in the hands of young people who are well-educated, proactive and aware of their responsibility to society,” said the University Rector.
