A meeting was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University with participants of the Teacher Retraining Course for the 2026–2027 academic year.
During the meeting, Gulzhan Zhamanbaikyzy, Head of the Office for Personnel Retraining and Professional Development, introduced participants to the development trends of the course, its educational programmes and key outcomes, provided information about the course structure and answered their questions.
The number of participants has been increasing every year, while the content of the educational programmes is being systematically updated. In the 2020–2021 academic year, 12 participants enrolled in the course, while by the 2024–2025 academic year, their number had increased to 97. During the 2025–2026 academic year, 82 participants successfully completed their final certification and received certificates.
A total of 102 participants were admitted for the 2026–2027 academic year.
Since the 2024–2025 academic year, teacher retraining courses have been organised on the basis of updated IP programmes, comprising 63 credits. This change is aimed at deepening the professional training of future teachers, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experience and adapting their preparation to modern educational requirements.
During the meeting, the following issues were discussed:
🔹 procedures for organising continuous and pedagogical-industrial internships;
🔹 key requirements for course participants;
🔹 Soft, Hard, Smart and Self skills required for teachers’ professional development;
🔹 opportunities offered by the course and its future development areas.
The Teacher Retraining Course is not simply an educational programme designed to help participants acquire a new profession. It is also an important step towards professional growth, continuous learning and successful teaching practice.
