Atyrau University Hosts Roundtable on the Constitution and Political Modernization

Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University hosted a national roundtable discussion titled "The Constitution and Democratic Institutions: Political Modernization in Kazakhstan." The scientific event brought together the university's leadership, faculty members, researchers, experts, doctoral and master's students, undergraduate students, and representatives of youth organizations.

During the event, Chairman of the Management Board – Rector of Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, Salamat Nurmukhanovich Idrisov, emphasized that the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan serves as the foundation of the rule of law and guarantees the rights and freedoms of every citizen. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening constitutional values, enhancing democratic institutions, and promoting scholarly research on the country's political modernization.

The first presentation was delivered by Bakyt Omirkhanovich Altynbassov, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Internationalization, who spoke on "The Features of Kazakhstan's Constitutional Development."

The discussion continued with a presentation by Professor Zhamiga Tazhikovna Tanatarova, Doctor of Historical Sciences, titled "Political Modernization in Kazakhstan: History and the Contemporary Stage." In her presentation, she examined the historical foundations of political reforms in Kazakhstan and explored current trends in the country's political development.

The event's guest of honor, Erkebulan Ginayatovich Mutigullin, an alumnus of the university and Deputy Head of the Atyrau Region Youth Resource Center, shared his views on young people's perceptions of Kazakhstan's socio-political transformations and the current level of civic engagement among youth.

In addition, Gulfairuz Kairgaliyevna Kairgaliyeva, Candidate of Historical Sciences and Associate Professor, delivered a presentation focusing on the impact of constitutional reforms on the country's development.

The roundtable concluded with an engaging discussion, during which participants exchanged views on the presentations and offered their recommendations. The event served as an important platform for discussing ways to strengthen the principles of the rule of law, further develop democratic institutions, and enhance cooperation between academia and practice.
