The forum serves as an international platform for open dialogue among government agencies, international organizations, businesses, and public associations on issues related to green energy and waste recycling.
The main objective of GEWR 2026 was to unite the efforts of stakeholders across the sector to facilitate the transition to a circular economy in Kazakhstan and Central Asia through sustainable waste management and efficient recycling practices.
The forum featured 10 thematic sessions addressing the impact of waste on human health and the environment, modern waste management technologies, green energy, and the transformation of waste management systems in Central Asia.
Participants also discussed financial instruments for developing a circular economy, sustainable urban solutions, emission reduction and methane management, as well as the management of electronic and industrial waste.
The forum brought together representatives of government agencies, development institutions, organizations involved in natural resource use, and other interested stakeholders.
The knowledge, issues, and practical approaches discussed during the forum will be incorporated into future lectures for students studying Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.
