The Military Department of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University is one of the University’s key divisions contributing to the patriotic education of young people and strengthening Kazakhstan’s national defense capabilities. In addition to providing high-quality military education, the department aims to prepare responsible, highly qualified specialists.
The Military Department was established in accordance with the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 344 dated 10 June 2016.
The department’s first head was Colonel Kuandyk Berdigaliyev. He was later succeeded by Lieutenant Colonel of Justice (Reserve) Serik Absamatov. The department is currently headed by Colonel (Reserve) Ruslan Nauryzbekov.
Students of the Military Department are trained under reserve officer and reserve sergeant programs. The curriculum is designed to strengthen the military reserve of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan and prepare qualified personnel for entry-level officer and sergeant positions.
Today, the department offers training in several military specialties, including the combat employment of combined-arms units, military service organization, security and law enforcement, territorial defense planning and organization, and small arms training.
In addition to students of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, students of Atyrau University of Safi Utebayev Oil and Gas also study under these programs. Every year, more than 200 graduates complete their military training, contributing to the development of Kazakhstan’s military reserve.
