On June 4, 2026, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a meeting dedicated to the activities of anti-corruption compliance services within higher and postgraduate education institutions. The event brought together university leaders, representatives of scientific organizations, and compliance officers.
During the meeting, Chingiz Mukhambetkaliyev, Head of the Anti-Corruption Compliance Service of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, delivered a presentation entitled:
“A Modern Model of Compliance Officers’ Work in Universities: Monitoring, Prevention, and Corruption Risk Management.”
The presentation highlighted the university’s practical experience in implementing anti-corruption compliance measures, including the monitoring of academic processes, public procurement procedures, and the use of university property. Particular attention was given to approaches aimed at fostering a culture of integrity and managing corruption risks.
Special emphasis was placed on the role of monitoring as a foundation for effective anti-corruption work, the importance of trust among employees and students, and the application of a risk-based approach within higher education institutions.
Participants discussed current issues related to the further development of the compliance system and the improvement of mechanisms for preventing corruption risks in the higher education sector.
