An important academic event was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, organized by the Kh.B. Tabyldiyev Research Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnology of the Caspian Region and the Department of Kazakhstan and World History.
During the event, two significant publications that contribute to the development of national historical scholarship were officially presented:
* “Military History of Western Kazakhstan (18th-20th Centuries)” - a collective monograph;
* “Western Kazakhstan in the 18th Century -First Half of the 20th Century: Political Situation, Liberation Struggles, and Military Heroism” - a collection of documents and archival materials.
Opening the event, Professor Saipulla Sapanov, Director of the Kh.B. Tabyldiyev Research Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnology of the Caspian Region and Doctor of Historical Sciences, highlighted the scholarly significance and historical value of the newly published works.
During the presentation, historians discussed the academic importance of the publications and delivered reports on key issues related to the study of the military history of Western Kazakhstan, emphasizing the value of archival sources and historical documentation.
In particular, Bolat Zhumagulov, Candidate of Historical Sciences and Professor at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, provided a detailed overview of the books’ content and scientific contributions. Professors of Atyrau University, including Shakhman Nagimuly, Aldar Sarsenov, Zhamiga Tanatarova, and Serik Kuanysh, also shared valuable insights based on their own research.
As part of the event, participants discussed current directions in the study of Kazakhstan’s military history and emphasized the importance of the new publications for both the academic community and young researchers.
