A round table discussion dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the 1916 national liberation uprising was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University under the theme “The National Liberation Struggle of the Kazakh People in Western Kazakhstan: History and Personalities.” The meaningful event took place in the lecture hall named after ethnographer and scholar Zeynolla Sanik.
The purpose of the event was to promote the historical significance of the national liberation movement, popularize the legacy of those who fought for freedom, and create a platform for scholarly discussion.
Opening the meeting, Professor and Doctor of Historical Sciences Saipulla Sapanov spoke about the importance of liberation movements in the history of the nation.
Honorary Professor of the university Amankeldi Shamgonov delivered a presentation titled “35 Years Full of Research,” sharing his experience in scientific research and historical studies. Professor and Doctor of Historical Sciences Leskali Berdigozhin presented a report titled “People’s Hero Isatay Taymanuly,” thoroughly analyzing the hero’s role and bravery in national history. Professor and Candidate of Historical Sciences Gulfairuz Kairgaliyeva presented a report on “The Issue of the Liberation Struggle in the Studies of Khalel Dosmukhameduly,” focusing on the scholar’s historical conclusions. In addition, first-year Master’s student in History Aizhan Daribek delivered a presentation titled “Batyrs and Biys in the Liberation Movement: Historical Figures,” emphasizing the role of historical personalities in the nation’s history.
At the end of the event, participants exchanged opinions and shared recommendations. The round table widely discussed the importance of studying national history and promoting the legacy of historical figures.
