Opening Ceremony of the XVIII Republican Student Subject Olympiad Held

The opening ceremony of the XVIII Republican Student Subject Olympiad on the “Methodology of Teaching Music” within the educational program “Training Music Teachers” was held at Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.

Talented students, lecturers, and guests from higher education institutions across the country took part in the event. The main purpose of the Olympiad is to enhance the professional and creative skills of future music teachers, assess their performance abilities, and create a platform for experience exchange. This year, 25 students from 12 universities of Kazakhstan are participating in the competition.

During the ceremony, participants were warmly welcomed, and information was shared about the university’s achievements and the quality of its educational programs.

In his welcoming speech, Rector of Atyrau University Salamat Idrissov stated:

“I sincerely congratulate all of you on the opening of the XVIII Republican Subject Olympiad in the discipline “Musical Instrument.” We are proud and honored that Atyrau University has been entrusted with organizing this Olympiad for the second time. We express our gratitude to the participants who came from all regions of the country and to the university administrations that provided them with this opportunity. We wish you to return from the sacred land of Atyrau inspired by the remarkable talents gathered here.”

As part of the event, a concert program featuring talented student performers was organized, presenting the audience with Kazakh folk songs and traditional instrumental compositions.

The Olympiad is conducted in two stages:

* Stage I - “Performance on a Musical Instrument”
* Stage II - “Performance of School Songs”

To ensure fairness and transparency, the members of the jury panel were introduced during the ceremony. The panel includes experienced professors and specialists in the field of arts.

During the opening ceremony, participants drew lots using traditional Kazakh knucklebones (asyk) to determine their performance order. After the draw, each participant received their asyk as a commemorative souvenir.

Following the ceremonial event, the first stage of the Olympiad officially began.

We wish all participants the best of luck!
