“Tagdyr”: Young Philologists Explore the Literary World of Kabdesh Zhumadilov

At Khalel Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University, an educational event dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the prominent representative of Kazakh literature, People’s Writer of Kazakhstan, and State Prize laureate Kabdesh Zhumadilov was held within the framework of the republican campaign One Country - One Book - 2026.

The main purpose of the meeting was to promote national literature among young people, foster historical awareness through literary works, and increase interest in reading. First-year Philology students participated in the event and explored the writer’s life and literary heritage in greater depth.

During the event, the author’s literary legacy was comprehensively presented, including meaningful information about his stories, novellas, and novels. Special attention was given to the novel Tagdyr, selected for the 2026 “One Country - One Book” campaign. Students shared their opinions on the historical period depicted in the novel, the fate of its characters, and themes of national spirit.

Head of the Department of Kazakh Language and Literature, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Gulzira Ayapova delivered a detailed presentation on Kabdesh Zhumadilov’s life, creative journey, contribution to Kazakh literature, and literary works. Students also conducted literary analyses of the writer’s works and exchanged views.
