Kazakhstan took part for the first time in an international education exhibition held in China, marking an important step toward promoting the national higher education system on the global stage.
On April 10, 2026, the China Study Abroad Forum (CSAF 2026) and the China International Education Exhibition Tour (CIEET 2026) were held in Beijing. A Kazakh delegation, led by Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education Gulzat Kobenova, participated in these events for the first time. The delegation included representatives of 27 domestic organizations in the field of higher and postgraduate education.
At this large-scale international platform, Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University presented its educational programs. The university was represented by Chairman of the Board - Rector Salamat Idrissov, Acting Head of the International Partnership and Internationalization Council Gulzira Dauletova, and leading specialist Mereke Omarova.
During the forum, the Kazakh side presented the current state and development prospects of higher and postgraduate education in the country, as well as initiatives to expand academic cooperation and develop branches of foreign universities.
Within the exhibition, Kazakhstan was represented through the national pavilion “Kazakhstan - the Territory of Academic Knowledge” and the unified exposition Study in Kazakhstan. This platform showcased educational programs of domestic universities and aimed to increase the attractiveness of studying in Kazakhstan among international applicants.
The forum brought together representatives of leading universities and organizations from China, the USA, the United Kingdom, Russia, Australia, Singapore, Italy, Spain, Greece, Malaysia, Vietnam, and other countries, becoming a major international dialogue platform with more than 500 participants.
For Atyrau University, participation in this exhibition opened new opportunities for establishing partnerships with leading Chinese educational institutions, expanding academic mobility, and developing joint educational programs. Strengthening cooperation with Chinese universities and enhancing the university’s position in the international educational space are planned for the future.
It is worth noting that the China International Education Exhibition Tour has been held annually since 1999 and is one of the largest educational platforms in Asia. This year, the exhibition attracted more than 50,000 visitors.
