A roundtable titled “The Giant of His Time -Kazhymukan”, dedicated to the 155th anniversary of the legendary Kazakh hero and world-renowned wrestler Kazhymukan Munaitpasov, was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University. The event was organized by the Department of Physical Education and Initial Military Training.
The roundtable aimed to promote Kazhymukan’s legacy, present him as a role model for the younger generation, and highlight the importance of national sports. The event brought together faculty members, scholars, coaches, students, and representatives of the sports community.
The session was opened and moderated by the Head of the Department, Professor Alpysbai Aralbayev. The keynote presentation was delivered by Professor Ergali Mukhitdenov of the Academy of Tourism and Sports, a Master of Sports of Kazakhstan and an Honored Coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who provided a comprehensive analysis of Kazhymukan’s historical role in the development of Kazakh sports.
Renowned Honored Coach of Kazakhstan Kydyrbek Rysbek also emphasized the importance of Kazhymukan’s personality in the upbringing of young people. The wrestler’s grandson, singer, composer, and international competition laureate Bagytzhan Kazhymukanov, shared personal memories and presented historical insights about his grandfather.
During the roundtable, Senior Lecturer and Master Rafael Khabirov reviewed historical data on Kazhymukan Munaitpasuly and analyzed his life and achievements from a scientific perspective. Student Gibrat Yesenkara highlighted Kazhymukan as a role model for today’s youth, emphasizing the educational value of his personal qualities.
The event concluded with an open discussion and a Q&A session.
