The International Tournament Has Begun

The 2nd International Boxing Tournament in memory of Bolat Temirov, an Honored Master of Sport of International Class, has officially commenced!
The opening ceremony of the 2nd International Men’s Boxing Tournament in memory of Bolat Bisenuly Temirov — five-time USSR champion, International Master of Sport, and Honorary Citizen of Atyrau Region — was held at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.
Bolat Bisenuly Temirov was a five-time USSR champion, seven-time champion of Kazakhstan, and a prize-winner of numerous international tournaments. In 1987, he was awarded the title of USSR Master of Sport, in 1991 — International Master of Sport of the USSR, and in 1997 — Honored Master of Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Between 1988 and 1992, he studied at Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University majoring in Physical Education and Sport, obtaining the qualification of a physical education teacher.
The ceremonial event was organized by the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism of Atyrau Region and the Atyrau Boxing Federation. It was attended by International Master of Sport in boxing, Olympic and Asian Games champion Bakyt Sarsekbayev; Deputy Akim of Atyrau Region Daryn Shamuratov; representatives of the regional Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Atyrau Boxing Federation; family members of Bolat Temirov; Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Askhat Imangaliyev; and Chairman of the Board – Rector of Atyrau University Salamat Idrissov.
In his welcome speech, Deputy Akim of Atyrau Region Daryn Shamuratov stated:
“On behalf of Akim of Atyrau Region Serik Shapkenov, I sincerely congratulate everyone on the opening of the 2nd International Men’s Boxing Tournament in memory of Bolat Bisenuly Temirov — five-time champion of the USSR, International Master of Sport, and Honorary Citizen of Atyrau Region! There are few people who remain indifferent when it comes to sports, and boxing holds a special place among them. This tournament, held in honor of Bolat Temirov who contributed immensely to the development of boxing, plays an important role in further advancing the sport and inspiring the younger generation. We wish all participants the best of luck — may the strongest win!”
The tournament has brought together around 200 athletes from the national boxing teams of various regions of Kazakhstan — Almaty, Akmola, Aktobe, Atyrau, West Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, Zhetysu, Karaganda, Kostanay, Kyzylorda, Mangystau, Pavlodar, Turkistan — as well as the cities of Astana and Shymkent, and teams from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
This international tournament not only serves as a valuable platform for gaining competitive experience but also provides athletes with the opportunity to hone their skills and prepare for competitions at the international level. We wish all athletes great success!
