Atyrau university launched the challenge "National clothing - a mirror of the nation"

Atyrau University named after. Kh. Dosmukhamedova organized the challenge “National clothing - a mirror of the nation.” About 200 professors and teachers and thousands of students took part in the initiative. All of them came to the educational institution today in Kazakh national clothing.
Atyrau University supported and implemented the idea expressed by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the third meeting of the National Kurultai in the sacred Saraishyk that the world should recognize us by our national clothing. The head of state then emphasized: "Some large companies and educational institutions are already introducing the practice of wearing clothing in the national style. This right initiative should be supported and expanded."
Atyrau University, with its glorious 85-year history, pays special attention to national traditions. In particular, in recent years, it has become a good tradition at the university to wear national clothing on Fridays.
"It has become a trend in our university to wear clothes in the national style. The Kazakh national dress and jewelry reflect ancient culture, history, traditions and customs. This is our national identity, which is passed down from generation to generation. In order to promote national clothes, we are sending this challenge to higher educational institutions of the country. Our students wear national clothes with pleasure, which combine fashion trends and the beauty of Kazakh ornaments. Thus, they demonstrate the spiritual significance and national identity of Kazakh clothes. I believe that wearing national clothes decorated with beautiful Kazakh patterns should become a fashion that everyone would adhere to in everyday life," said Salamat Idrissov, Chairman of the Board and Rector of the Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University.
The teachers and students who participated in the challenge, which took place in the Zhaiyk sports complex, competed in national Kazakh games: togyzkumalak, playing alchiki (asyk atu among boys and bes tas among girls, mayalka (langa), tug of war, weight lifting, arm wrestling.
Atyrau University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov passed the challenge baton to the teachers and students of East Kazakhstan University named after Sarsen Amanzholov, West Kazakhstan University named after Makhambet Utemisov, South Kazakhstan University named after Mukhtar Auezov, North Kazakhstan University named after Manash Kozybayev, Karaganda University named after Evney Buketov, all civil servants of the Atyrau region and the staff of colleges and schools subordinate to the Atyrau regional education department.
