Tematic work within the framework of the "Silver university" project

In accordance with the concept of development of higher education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2029, Atyrau University named after Kh. Dosmukhamedov is carrying out systematic work on further development of the “Silver University” project within the framework of providing services under the Silver University programs. “Silver University” is a project that creates favorable conditions for older people to improve themselves, gain new knowledge and skills, increase self-confidence and actively participate in the public life of the city and region.
In accordance with the work plan of the Office of Retraining and Advanced Training of Personnel within the framework of the Silver University program, from October 19 to November 16, 2024, a course in cutting and sewing was conducted by senior lecturer of the Department of Fine Arts and Design, Master E.M. Makhmetova.
During the course, practical classes were held on cutting clothes, ways to determine the size, transfer to tracing paper, methods of cutting fabrics, types and properties of fabrics, the basics of their selection and other topics.
The garment industry is a global branch of the global economy. This course meets modern requirements and has undoubtedly achieved its goal.
At the end of the course, the participants were awarded certificates.
