Today is a day of understanding, acceptance, support, and compassion. It marks an important step toward ensuring that every child with special needs finds their place in society. The “Daryn” Inclusive Education Resource Center at the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy, Faculty of Innovative Education of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University is a vivid example of meaningful work in this direction.
The main goal of the Center is to combine theoretical knowledge with practical training for future special education teachers and psychologists while providing high-quality support to children with special educational needs.
Today, the “Daryn” Center:
• Provides systematic corrective and developmental support for children with special needs
• Serves as a professional practice platform for students
• Has become a scientific and practical center for inclusive education
Since the 2025-2026 academic year, within the framework of a memorandum with the Regional Psychological-Medical-Pedagogical Consultation No. 1, the Center has been providing regular speech therapy and psychological support to children with special educational needs.
The Center also hosts:
- regional forums
- international conferences
- scientific discussions
On April 2, 2025, a regional forum titled “Methods of Social Adaptation of Children with Autism” was held. On April 9, 2025, an international scientific and practical conference “Inclusive Education and Society: Methodology, Research, Practice” was organized jointly with Simon Fraser University.
Scholars, researchers, and practitioners from Kazakhstan and abroad participated, sharing experience and discussing current issues in inclusive education. Leading experts also provided methodological and scientific support to regional specialists.
Currently, a modular psychological program aimed at developing social and communication skills of children with special needs - developed jointly by faculty and students - is under scientific review for patenting.
This is an important innovative step combining science and practice.
For us, every child is unique.
Every opportunity matters.
Inclusion is the future.
