“Stop Stalking: A Step Together Toward a Safe Society!” Forum Held
Within the framework of the “Law and Order” principle, Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University hosted the forum “Stop Stalking: A Step Together Toward a Safe Society!”
The primary goal of the forum was to enhance legal literacy among young people, raise awareness about stalking, forced marriage, and domestic violence, and provide information on legal protection mechanisms.
The event opened with a thematic performance presented by the Atyrau Youth Theater, depicting real-life social issues and encouraging thoughtful reflection among the audience.
Opening remarks were delivered by Deputy Akim of Atyrau City Yerdos Ghaniuly and Deputy Prosecutor of Atyrau City Valeriy Sayasatuly, who emphasized the importance of the rule of law and legal culture.
Key speakers included the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Atyrau Region Amangeldi Amaniyazuly; Danagul Bagytzhankyzy, member of the Commission on Women’s Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy; Baubek Zhenisovich, Director of the Center for Special Social Services for Victims of Domestic Violence; theologian Sultangeldi Serikuly from the Department of Religious Affairs of the Atyrau Region; and Police Major Aigerim Muratkyzy, Senior Inspector of the Department for Combating Domestic Violence of the Atyrau Regional Police Department.
Representatives of the Atyrau Regional Council of Grandmothers also shared their views, highlighting the importance of national values and moral upbringing.
In the concluding session, participants asked questions and received detailed responses from the speakers.
The forum emphasized that the law is not merely an instrument of punishment, but a mechanism of protection, and that a safe society is a shared responsibility.
