H. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University’s Office for Staff Retraining and Professional Development has been conducting a professional development course for school teachers of the Atyrau Region entitled “The Intangible Culture of the Kazakh People: Past and Present.”
In today’s era of globalization, preserving national values, instilling spiritual heritage in younger generations, and integrating national education with the learning process have become increasingly important priorities. Organized with these goals in mind, the course aims to enhance teachers’ ethnocultural awareness and professional competencies.
The course author and lecturer is Shakhman Nagimovich Nagimov, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and Professor. Drawing on his extensive academic and pedagogical experience, Professor Nagimov delivers insightful lectures and practical sessions on the distinctive features of the intangible cultural heritage of the Kazakh people, their spiritual values, traditions and customs, folk knowledge, national games, and the educational potential of folk pedagogy.
As part of the course program, participants gain comprehensive knowledge of the spiritual values of traditional Kazakh culture, the system of customs and kinship relations among Kazakhs, the educational and developmental significance of national games, the historical and cultural heritage of the Atyrau region, as well as the unique characteristics of folk knowledge and national upbringing.
In addition, participants explore effective approaches to integrating national cultural heritage into the modern education system and learn methods for applying ethnopedagogical practices in the classroom. Through practical workshops and professional discussions, teachers exchange experiences and further develop their pedagogical skills.
Bringing together school teachers from across the Atyrau Region, the course has become an important platform for promoting national culture, fostering national identity among younger generations, and contributing to the improvement of educational quality.
The course is ongoing, and we wish all participants productive learning, new knowledge, and continued creative and professional success.
