Preventing Juvenile Delinquency and Suicidal Behavior: A Shared Responsibility

A meeting was held at H. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University with the participation of representatives of the Atyrau City Prosecutor’s Office to discuss a project aimed at preventing juvenile delinquency and conducting a comprehensive psychological analysis to identify the causes of suicidal behavior among minors.

The project was initiated by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Atyrau Region and is being developed with the support of university researchers. Its primary goal is to create a comprehensive psychological analysis model for identifying the causes of juvenile delinquency and suicidal behavior and to pilot this model within educational institutions.

In today’s society, juvenile delinquency and suicidal behavior among minors remain pressing socio-psychological issues. Adolescence is characterized by emotional instability, identity crises, and the increasing influence of social factors, all of which contribute to a higher risk of developing deviant and self-destructive behaviors. Despite the preventive measures currently implemented in educational institutions, there is still a lack of systematic approaches aimed at comprehensively diagnosing the underlying causes of delinquent and suicidal behavior. The absence of a unified psychological assessment algorithm complicates the early identification of at-risk groups and reduces the effectiveness of preventive interventions.

Therefore, the development of comprehensive psychological analysis algorithms designed to identify the causes of juvenile delinquency and suicidal behavior is both a relevant scientific and practical task.

Upon successful implementation of the project, a comprehensive psychological diagnostic model is expected to be developed. In addition, a psychological monitoring system will be introduced to support the design of preventive programs and the development of methodological recommendations.

The meeting was attended by Salamat Nurmukhanuly Idrisov, Rector of Atyrau University, along with Mergen Omirbekuly Mendigaliyev, Prosecutor of Atyrau City; Berdibek Berikqaliuly Zholan, Deputy Prosecutor of Atyrau City; Dulat Bolatbekuly Khamzin, Head of the Educational and Upbringing Department of the Atyrau Regional Education Directorate; Rysgul Yersainovna Duldasheva, Senior Inspector of the Juvenile Police Unit of the Atyrau City Police Department and Police Captain; Bolatbekuly Doszhan, Head of the Regional Methodological Center under the Atyrau Regional Education Directorate; Aigerim Sayasatovna Kuspanova, Head of the Methodological Work Department of the Psychological Support Center; Muldir Kazhmedenovna Kusainova, Methodologist of the Methodological Work Department of the Psychological Support Center.
