DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING

HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Finance and Accounting is a structural unit of the Faculty of Economics and Law of the Dosmukhamedov Atyrau University. The mission of the department corresponds to the mission of the university: to form the intellectual capital of Atyrau region in the field of research and education, capable of taking a leading position in the country in creating best practices in innovative teaching and the formation of ecological culture.

The Department of Finance and Credit was established on September 1, 1999 by the order of the rector of Atyrau State University named after H. Dosmukhamedov, in the same year the first students were admitted to the specialty "Finance and Credit". In 2001, in connection with the opening of the specialty "Accounting and Auditing", the name of the department was changed to "Finance, Credit and Accounting". Today, the department is called "Finance and Accounting". Since 2020, the department has started to train undergraduates in the educational programs 7M04104 Accounting, Audit and Control, 7M04105 Financial Economics, 7M04114 Accounting, Audit and Control, 7M04115 Financial Economics.

Over the years, the work of the department was led by: Candidate of Economics Suleimenova G.N. (1999-2006), Candidate of Economics Musayeva A.A. (2006-2009, 2012-2015), Candidate of Economics Utepkalieva K.M. (2009-2012), Candidate of Economics Adietova E.M. (2016-2019), PhD Kenzhegalieva Z.Zh. (2015-2016, 2019 to the present time).

In addition, the following professors and teachers played a significant role in the formation and development of the department: Slobodyan V.V., Khamidullina Zh.B., Dariskalieva M.S., Candidate of Economics Musayeva A.A., Candidate of Economics Gabdullin N.I., Candidate of Economics Bikteubayeva A.S., Aldeshova S.B., Pusyrmanova A.B., Idelbaeva A.S., Escalieva A.Zh., PhD Igalieva L.N., PhD Sanalieva L.N., PhD Serikova M.A., Candidate of Economics Rakayeva A.N., Kanatova A.Zh., Zhubanova S.B., Nurzhanova A.Sh. They have made a significant contribution to the educational, pedagogical and research activities of the department.

Since its foundation, the department has made a significant contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists for the financial and banking system of the Western region. Among the graduates of the department are scientists, economists, heads of large industrial organizations, as well as banking and insurance institutions.

Currently, the faculty of the department consists of 8 people who teach undergraduate and graduate students, including 2 candidates of Economics, 4 PhD doctors, 2 Masters of Economics, the scientific potential of the department is 75%.
