History of the Department of Management
The history of the Department of Management of the Faculty of Economics and Law dates back to 2001. During its development, the Department has undergone several structural and nominal transformations, playing an important role in strengthening the educational and scientific potential of the Faculty.
In April 2001, the Department was established as the Department of Economic Theory. In 2012, in accordance with the requirements of the higher education system, it was reorganized into the Department of Economic Theory and Public Administration. Since August 2015, the Department has been operating under its current name — the Department of Management.
Since its establishment, the Department has been headed by Candidates of Economic Sciences, Professors B.Zh. Taubaev, A.A. Abaeva, and R.S. Utalieva. Since 2023, the Department has been led by Master of Economic Sciences B.M. Dyussegaliyeva. Currently, systematic work is being carried out to ensure the strategic development of the Department, modernization of educational programs, and strengthening of research activities.
The academic staff of the Department is characterized by a high scientific and pedagogical potential. In 2017, R.S. Utalieva, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, was awarded the title “Best University Teacher” by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Today, the Department offers bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. At the bachelor’s level, training is provided in Industry Management and Economics and Public Administration. At the master’s level, programs in HR Management and Healthcare Management are implemented.
Thus, the Department of Management is one of the leading academic units of the Faculty, ensuring the training of competitive and highly qualified specialists.
